Welcome to Borughton Heights, Missouri where North Broughton High School and Broughton High School is located. Unlike most high schools in the world, North Broughton's Tigers don't hold athletes to a higher standard. In fact, if one were to argue that someone had it better in the school, it'd be the thespians and artsy kids. The school holds their band and choir and drama club to an unprecedented standard in the area. the multi-time national champion choir is consistantly a top performer, as is the band. As for sports, they aren't the best, but they aren't the worst. Their best sport is football, their worst? Basketball. As for academics, nothings wrong with a C average.
Broughton's other school is the Wolves who proudly display a blue and black color scheme. They are the mostly revolving around academics with the school containing a B average on their bad days. It is the cheaper of the two schools, thus showing that money isn't everything. Athletically, they are superior in Basketball and Hockey, yet inferior in Football. They are about even in every other thing. Also, despite the Tigers specifications on the arts, they don't want to take anything away from the Wolves, who are always contenders.
But what about the rivalry? This was mostly in part to the building of a 2nd high school in Broughton in 1960.
The rivalry began during the first year of the North Broughton High Schools existance. That year, at the 3rd baseball game, first between the schools. 5 student fights brok out. Following that, the graduating classes have carried on predjudices. In schools, fraternizing with the enemy is frowned upon by other students and is almost encouraged by the parents of those students. While neither side classifies the other as poor. For some reason, the city just hates each other. The central part of the city is common ground, a lot of times, those who don't carry the predjudice will meet here. Meanwhile, city hall has had enough of the feud and the Mayor seeks to put an end to it once and for all.
